Well no wonder everybodys nice and respectful on this site. There's a bunch of beat up road warriors and club musicians here. And I mean that in the very best sense. From what I've learned, the better the musician, the better the human being. Except for Buddy Rich Har! I'm 58 and have been playing paid gigs since 14. Started with classical piano at 5 .. then discovered boogie woogie at 12 .... in the 5th grade i won a school talent contest with a standing ovation playing "The Bobcat Boogie" ... beat out a 6th grade accordion player playing "Lady of Spain"..... the pretty girl liked me for a while ...then Jerry Lee Lewis followed by Otis Spann and Professor Longhair and it was goodby classical lessons. For better or worse ... still don't know ... I did get to do some European Jazz and Blues festivals in 2000 and 2001 with Son Seals. A great Blues singer and player from Arkansas then later Chicago. And recorded on his "lettin' go" cd. But he passed away and it's back to the clubs again for me. Bop till you Drop, art
