I was 38 this year. Have also been singing from a young age, but i really got into it after been asked to sing onstage with the great bryan adams at Leeds town hall on his 1987 into the fire world tour, i got to sing "the kids wanna rock" with him and met him backstage after, one of the nicest, most down to earth lads you could meet. I also got a big kiss from Carol Decker from t,pau who were warm up act for him. Happy Days!! ;D ;D And my lovely wife recently gave birth to a beautiful little girl!! Life gets better with age!! Well said tubbs, I think that you summed up the highlights of your life in one single post. Singing with Bryan Adams Woooow not to many could eclipse that... well done tubbs Im 30 and gigging since I was 14..

54. started playing guitar and singing 25 years ago...(a late starter) and I'm still no good at it, no matter how hard I try. I keep threatening to retire, but I'm too scared that I will miss it. I'm playing in a duo at the moment with about 2-3 gigs a month...just enough for me at my age.

Steve, You're right to be scared that you will miss it! I did my first gig (or bookings as they were called then) back in 1967 I've lost count the amount of times that I have sold all of my equipment because I intended to retire, Only to buy some more six months later and come out of retirement. I'm afraid once it's in the blood it's there to stay.

I'll be 52 in December. Still have most of my teeth...lol. Hair is salt & pepper...more salt than pepper. Still can hit a B above middle C on good nights...but mind you it's hit it and leave immediatley...lol. And, last of all, but not least....still gigging..hauling around way too much equipment...and not getting paid what I'm worth. Life goes on.....

37 (at least for another 3.5 hours anyway). Rediscovered music a few years ago when I sold my Computer Consulting business to spend more time at home - now I'm out gigging, but at least the wife comes along (in fact she drags me along most shows -- lol);D

41 not out, me. I'll tell you what you dudes already know- this game keeps us young- I see pals from school and they would LOVE to do what I do! A friend of mine's big brother won the lottery a few years ago, around £3 million. He spent a good few quid on guitars I could only dream of, but they just sit in the corner of a (very) expensive house, doing nothing. You can't buy it, but if you've got it, look after yourself and have THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!

Hi. Jeannie James here. I am still performing with my husband, we work as a duo called Just We Two. We are both in our 60's now and we work continually. In fact for the rest of this year, we have 16 days that up to now we are not working, but that could change any day. So the answer is you are as old as you are allowed to get, we hav.nt got time to get old. In fact we flew back from Canada on Saturday. By the way if there are any Canadians out there, Ottawa is the most beautiful city I have ever been too.

Hey Lucky, I haven't seen you on the forum for a while, are you doing a gig on the ship in the Caribbean? I did 4 weeks back in the 90's, it was one of the best times of my life. Cheers, Dave.

Hi Jeannie, Good for you! It's great that you're both still gigging in your 60's and why wouldn't you? You're never too old to have fun. Thanks for the post; you're an inspiration to us all. Cheers, Dave.

Lucky Congratulations Lucky on getting such a wonderful and lucrative cruise contract. I know some friends who did something similar a few years ago and they had a great time. I wish the same for you.

Rocky here..
64 in March...still doing a house gig on Tenor Sax, Guitar and Boards. We have some young cats in the group..wife is 15 years younger..picked her up when she was pup 25 years ago and she has been doing jazz vocals with our group ever since.
We carry a full horn section, but really use the midis to cut down on the total size of the group. Everyone doubles on two instruments, vocals, we have three lead singers including my wife, a rat pack and Buble type and one hell of a black blues singer.
I will do it til I die or fine wines go away....
Everyone keep on cooking and entertaining...
Rocky
