Hey Roger,
Great topic...first of all. Secondly, here's a list of songs that always get the crowd going for us: 1. Brown-eyed Girl - Van Morrison 2. My Girl - The Temptations 3. Mustang Sally - Wilson Pickett 4. Old Time Rock n Roll - Bob Seger 5. Brickhouse - The Commodores 6. Aint Too Proud to Beg - The Temptations 7. Crazy - Patsy Cline 8. Get The Party Started - Pink 9. Honky Tonk Women - The Rolling Stones 10. Electric Slide - Marcia Griffith
I have played these songs so much, I can play and sing them in my sleep (ah...more like nightmares...lol). But, the audience loves 'em...and if they had their way we would only play these songs over an over again....That's why we have to play different material...so I wont go insane...LOL

Guy's/Gal's
What a wonderful response to this thread. There are 46 songs offered so far and I thought a quick re-cap of them would be nice. Just think of it, if you could offer these all to a crowd in one night!
Thanks to everyone for contributing.

I always find the 60's singalong songs do well. Also Build Me Up Buttercup, Man I Feel Like A Woman, , Doo Wah Diddy, and because I live in Oz any Aussie Rock songs get great response, especially Eagle Rock. With an older crowd you can always fill the floor with cuddly ballads, Unchained Melody never fails.

Galway Girl, Joyce Country Ceili Band, Fields Of Athenry (rock version) etc. Good ol Irish Rock tunes go down great followed by a rousing version of Amhran na bhFiann!! Throw in a little rock and roll in between and Bobs your Uncle!! ;D

Hey guys he is in India not Ireland it would be a bit difficult playing those on a Sitar. Im sure it would be just as difficult singing "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" on it as well!! ;D Shyam, try some of these irish numbers, there is bound to be at least one irish person in the audience!!

"Walkin' on Sunshine" seems to work pretty well here. Not one of my favourites to sing, though.

Most requested song is probably The Gambler. Other singalong favourites would be Suspicious Minds, Daydream Believer & Brown Eyed Girl.

Hi Everyoneon the forum! If I have a mostly countrycrowd Johnny Cash,Patsy Cline and Bluegrass music is always very popular..I f the crown is more of a rock/pop crowd they love Creedence Clearwater Revival. Lynrd Skynrd, and oldcover rock songs..Blues crowds usually likeJanis Joplin,BB King, tina Turner Aretha Franklin..all in all I try to give a mix of all genres of music when I do a show and that way no matter what kind of music they like I will have it covered...Violet Songbird
