Easter

Hi Everyone
Happy Easter Everyone !!
Tell me frankly guys, how many of you strictly followed the period of Lent ? Have you abstained from meat Have you given up smoking ? Have you given up drinking ? Atleast for the 40 days ?
I really dont find many sacrificing anything.
As for Easter, I remember the years when everyone went for midnight mass and then went to their friends place or their neighbourhood club to "break the fast " and have a feast.
Nowadays, "midnight" mass is at 7 or 8 pm and the partying begins before Easter !! Fast to Feast is what it was.......its feast to feast now !!
Are there any special songs to do at Easter time ? I never did know of any but would like to know if there are any.
Have a Happy Easter folks and I hope everyone spares a thought for Jesus.!!

I fear Shyam that all tradition and religious rites are slowly becoming the past, new events, a new era and a new generation has sprung up....

Whilst we oldies still realise the meaning of Easter or Lent, I'm afraid the generations to follow will not - That's society for you. Only the very religious person will have the knowledge of Easter or Lent, ask any child (in England) what Easter means to them and they will say Chocolate....... Sorry mate but chocolate is becoming the norm now not Christ, and I think the same with most religious festivals, Christmas is another........ Sadly tradition is dying...!

As for a song for Easter there is Easter Parade or My Easter Bonnet.... Sadly I have neither....

Truly Sad, Glenn........really a pity. All everyone interested is the partying and Easter is just one such occassion. It'll not be long before the scientists think of a way to have the hens lay Easter eggs !!
I'll try and dig into the Net for the Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet, but I doubt if I can learn to play/sing them in a day
