Hi Everyone out there How do you feel about the new Late Licensing Hours. Has it affected you much, have you had any shocks yet? I got to a gig last Friday, and found our times had been extended by one hour, OK they were prepared to pay, but you get all the hassle of renegotiating a new fee there and then, which can be embarrasing if it's not what was expected. Are you having any problems?

Hi jacqui
Well the licensing hours don't affect Nottingham cause the entertainment license still runs our at 23.00 unless it's a special occasion.
You need to check this with the landlord if you doing extra. It's the law.

This new late opening does not effect us here in Ireland. For example my gig last night (Sunday) finished at 11.15 pm. I started at 9.15 pm Normally starting times, other than Sundays, in pubs is between 10 - 10.30 pm, finishing around two hours later. But as we might at some stage return to live in the UK (London area) I would like to hear how the new law has effected there.

Hi Jacqui Yes, I was also caught out last weekend. The venue didn't want to pay any more, so I ended up sitting there twiddling my thumbs and not starting until 10 p.m, and a very restless audience. Total pain in the neck, and hopefully I wont be caught out again

Had a problem last week. The venue closed an hour later than usual. All I did, was insisted on an extra half hour break. Luckily, the venue had disco facilities to fill the void.
Everybody was happy at the end of the night.
