Hi Folks
I am non Technical, so this may be a silly post...may be impossible..but here goes.
I want to use a Laptop [IBM Thinkpad} to play some Midis. It has a Sound Card, but basic as you know.I have loaded Van Basco, and would like to improve the output.
I also have a Roland RA 90, which has a fairly decent Card. Is it possible to play the Midis on the laptop, through the Roland and through a Mixer, to get a better quality sound???
If its stupid, please forgive.
Jerry

Sure, it should be more than possible Jerry. You just need a midi interface to get the midi from your laptop midi-player to the RA 90. I'm not sure what inputs the RA90 has but it's bound to have a midi-in, if it has a serial port it's even easier. I'll have a look at the RA90 on google and get back to you. Maybe someone else on the forum has a better knowledge of the model. You'll just need to get the midi from the laptop to the sound card; probably a cheap usb midi interface is the quickest and cheapest way to go. Cheers, Dave.
