Hi How many of you use the Vocal Harmoniser of the new keyboards like the PSR 3000 and Pro 9000 etc ? I know we need to play the right chords to activate this but I',e ve been told it can be pre activated in the Midi File itself by programming the appropriate chords. Can anyone help me with this ?

Even better if you can do it in note mode rather than chord. I asked this question a few months ago in the keyboards section, check the thread.

Shyam,
You can set harmonizers to respond to changes from midi channels. I use an old vocalist II and send it the exact notes I want it to sing. I turn it on and of as needed ect...
I can't answer about the keyboard part of it, but I'm sure any newer harmonizers are capable of the same.
I have been using a harmonizer for a while now, so if you need help with the basics, regardless of the model I should be able to help at least help with the understanding of it.

I've seen this VT 1 (voice transformer ) produce by Roland Corp. Could anyone help me find an alternative? I inquired about this product but it's no longer available. The VT 1 can help singers do duets with themselves.

ramon1108,
Try the VP550 made by Roland. Look at the demos available on their web site or Voice Works made by TC Helicon which is the one I use. Though I'm getting ready to purchase the VP550.

Hi all (1st post), there's also the Yamaha VH daughter board that can be added to a sound module like the MU128 or to some of Yammy's keyboards. It has 4 different harmony effects all of which can be edited considerably via MIDI. If anybody wants to know more I should be able to help. All the best (great forum), JohnG.

I have been impressed by the Roland 5 keyboard which has a vocal harmoniser built in. If you play a midifile it will alter your pitch so you are in tune with the midifile. You can talk into the mike and still sound like you are singing in tune. It also has lots of vocal harmonies. Demos are available on the web.

The Digitech vocalist II, which is designed to work with guitar, also works with keyboards. It sounds pretty d**n good too, compared to any other harmonisers i've tried.....just my opinion mind
