I want to copy a recording to my computer IE Mini Disc etc. Or guitar and vocal in real time. Firstly can it be done, what connections/software Would I need etc etc. And could it be downloaded onto the Kristal mixer..................Pete.

hi pete rec/ onto pc /i think with what your doing you might be better of with a small mixer, ie 4 input,s so you can feed your guitar, and mike, m.disc, player into otherwise you wil have to keep going to the back of pc, swopping cable,s, then if you come, from line out of mixer, to line in on pc, poss/audio to small jack on pc! hope this is some help to you,no doubt you wil get other reply,s from lad,s,on forum as they are very helpfull, people. rgd,s Tiny ;D

Hi Shezza It really depends on how much you want to spend..... I have a 24track Tascam mixer to produce individual tracks and then I mix them on the PC in Adobe Audition to a CD. There are portable 4/8 track 'recording studios' that produce a very handy mix. As Tiny suggest, one way or another, you need a 'break out box' on the PC to allow at least one track input (with a 1/4" Jack) so that you can build up the parts. I have a pretty good ISIS card and 8 track box but stopped using it about 2 years ago because it will only run on Windows 98. If you are not running XP, or have another computer that you can set up Windows 98 (just for this - plus as much RAM as you can get) then this would be a very good solution as you can still pick them up on E-Bay cheap as chips because of the lack of development. It is MAXI STUDIO - ISIS and is an excellent solution - check out musical-instruments.search.ebay.com.au/MAXI-STUDIO_Musical-Instruments_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8QQsacatZ619Rockabilly
