CHANGING PATCH (guitar) IN CAKEWALK

Hi everyone

I am having problems changing a patch in cakewalk Home Studio 9.

I want to change from clean to jazz guitar.

I change the patch on the main screen and saved it. BUT

When I play the file in Virtual Sound Canvas the old patch is still playing, no change (clean guitar)

I have had a look in the event list and there is no description of any instrument, so I don't know of any other way of changing it permanently.

If you would like to see the file I can email it to you.

Sometimes I can't believe how clever I am......

In the main screen, sorry TRACK PANE. towards the bottom, there was another list of instruments and one of them said....clean guitar...so I change that to Jazz Guitar and...there you go...all fixed.

Another question...why does the track pane show two separate lots of the same instruments ?? But only in some midi files??

You can have 15 (or however many) track panes open if you want, it just depends what you've got open in CW... maybe you left something open and then loaded another midi on top.
