Occasionaly when I boot up either my Home PC, or Laptop the SW Synth Volume in the windows mixer is set to 50% or zero, even though I had it set to 100% before turning the computer off previously.

Not a big problem as it's easily enough fixed just a nuisance really!

try setting it to your desired volume and exit actually using the exit in pulldown menu if that dont work it might be doing it from another prog ie say vanbasco

go to sounds and audio in the control panel,and set the volume there,this usually sets the default volume for you.try it and see if this will work for you,i assume you are using xp(home or pro).i wouldn,t bother with vista as it is the most space grabbing,memory hogging program ever brought out.yes nice graphics but at what a price
