Does anyone know of any software on a PC that can add a vocal harmony as you sing. I've got a Creative Soundcard with a EAX console, but the only thing I can see that relates to voice is Chipmonk, Zeus, Male to Female & Female to Male. Any Ideas?

Jacqui,
I doubt you will find anything that will work to do what you want. I spend hours transcribing harmony from mp3's and manually entering them in to my mid's.
I use an external harmonizer for the out-put and it does a nice job for electronic voicing.
Good luck in your search....just don't be too hopeful.

I use a Digitech vocalist. Simple setup, just set the key to whatever your singing in and away ya go! 1,2,3,4,5part harmonies, all major/minor keys at the touch of a button and an on/of footswitch for live gigs, just hit it on the chorus and instant harmonies! Have mine 10years,cost £350 then, new ones out now by a couple of makers, you should try the net or a good music store. Hope this is of some help jacqui! Gooney!

Hi Jaqui Band in a box (2006) does have a means of adding up to around 17 part harmonies to a recorded voice track. Not really spent much time with it, but I have added my own harmony and backing vocals to a midi so that when I play the midi I just sing the song and my own harmony is part of the backing track - works a treat Here's a bit of a demo (not brilliant) with backing and harmonies created single handed!! www.adam.com.au/protool/ItsSoEasy.mp3Rockabilly

Hey Rockabilly,
Cool demo....backing and harmonies really sound good! I have a duo and there are times when we sure could use some backing vocal tracks and harmonies. Right now, it's just pick the most predominant harmony and sing it live. When you record your voice and then later add harmonies, is the lead vocal track muted and you sing live over the harmonies? That's what the demo sounds like. Can you raise and lower the vocal backing tracks in real time, like on a gig? I would think that the flexibilty to bring it more into the mix, or less in the mix would be helpful. Anyway, thanks for the demo....a recording is worth a thousand words!

Hi Charlie I basically start with the MIDI track and remove the melody and anything else that I don't use - often end up with Bass and Drums only. I then play the midi through my Tascam 24 track deck and add guitar rhthmn (basic) and then the vocals, lead guitar and then the harmony or harmonies and backing vocals general. I then transfer everything and vocals over to Adobe Audition (Cakewalk) and create the mix and then mix down everything apart from the Lead Vocals and lead guitar (which is what I do live). This is then saved as a MIDI so that I can make any volume adjustments later and as an MP3 for stage. Here is the final results www.adam.com.au/protool/its_so_easy_G_Ready.mid and www.adam.com.au/protool/ItsSoEasyBacking.mp3It does add depth to the song and also helps with some of the timing. Thanks everyone for all your helpful comments, and Rockabilly for those demo's, just great, it's obviously a lot more technical than I thought, when I sing with my Duo Partners, they are very good at Harmony's, but sometimes I do the same songs on my own with just backing tracks, and thats when they need the added harmony, or a bit of extra backing vocals on the chorus, for example songs like Shadwaddywaddy(Under The Moon Of Love) or (You Got What it Takes) Amarillo, or Hey Baby, the originals all had a lot of extra voices on them.
