I have cakewalk 3 on my old computer running windows ME {aaaah} I have XP now on a new puter and was looking for a mod or update to get it to run Cakewalk 3.This is a basic version but has all the edit features I need. Don't laugh it does me fine. Cheers for any help.

On XP you can set any particular program to run in win 95 or 98/ME mode. Go to wherever you have the program installed (ie Program Files on C drive for example) open the program folder, find the .exe file for the program, right click on it and select properties on the drop-down menu. You'll see a tab in properties called Compatability. Just tick the box and set this to 95 or 98/ME and you should be away.

I use Cakewalk 3 on my computer, running windows XP. A friend of mine installed it on my old P166 (running Windows 95) & I just copied it to a floppy & loaded on the new computer. It works fine. I can't remeber if it was the case with this program, but for some of the stuff I transfered from my old computer, it automatically brought up the compatability check.
