Hi levi2. I must say I don't Know this sequencer at all. But if you download the JazzWare sequencer (FREE), you can do it as follows. Load up Jazz and load in your track. Lets say you want to change track 4 at bar 30 from a Clean Guitar to a Steel Guitar. Highlight track 4 by clicking on the track number. Click the menu item "Misc", scroll down to "Events List" and click. You may see some control changes and other stuff before the notes start. Just ignore this for a moment. Where the control changes are "ctl", create a new change by entering the "prg", program change, something like 1:2:000 --- prg --- 4 --- 27 This is bar 1:2:000, the "prg" gives the sequencer the information of a program change. The 4 is the track number and the 27 is the value.... In all sequencers the value is always one less than printed in the manual, as 0 in midi is a number. So 27 refers to Clean Guitar. Now enter another for the change. 29:2:000 --- prg --- 4 --- 25. Now this is telling the sequencer to change instruments at bar 29:2:000. The change MUST come before the notes of the new guitar. The 25 is again the value -1, Steel Guitar is printed as 26, but must be value -1... 25 Play the track and you will then have the instrument change where you want it. There are many other factors to take into account, like the controllers. ctl 7 = volume, you may wish to change volume or change pan, or reverb... This can be done in exactly the same way but with "ctl" instead of "prg".... Hope you can follow this.... Here is a link for the Jazzware (FREE) sequencer. JazzWare Sequencer

Cheers for the info I do have jazzware installed but never really used it Will give it a try sometime this week when off work. In sound studio pro you also select track and theres a pull down menu for events/controllers ie vol pan reverb which is quite easy to do but couldnt see option for patch change levi2

hi it,s oldsage, you can alter the patch in any track by bringing up the event viewer, play the tune and when it comes to where you want to change, stop the play iy will show you where the last note on that track playedgo to the top of events,on the right hand side scroll down to program and click on insert.a new line will pop up and just change the number to the patch you want ie:26 for jazz guitar.if you are not sure of patch number go to top of page look in options for patch list and it will tell you.you can also change pan, expression, volume, any of the controller features this way.another tip for you.if you dont want a long intro of blank sound before your song plays, which a lot of songs seem to have which is most annoying.left click the mouse which brings up a small panel, select the knife, click on the blank spaces at the start of each track, where you want to cut it.a line will appear on the tracks where you have cut, back into the panel again, select the eraser, then simply click on the blank spaces.when all is finished click on edit from top menu select all left click and hold then drag all to the start line, and let go.the long empty space is gone now and your song will start at the amount of wait you want say 1 to 2 secs.whatever your pref is.it may sound long winded but once you have done it once or twice it is quite fast.please please before trying all of this out back up your file so you have a backup.i first got sound studio pro with an old keyboard controller.i now have version 2,which i got with another controller.it is a pity they dont sell this prog separately as it is the fastest and easiest midi sequencer i have found.have you tried the virtual keyboard, you can use your own keyboard to play it.there are quite a lot of sounds, loops intros, and outs to use.and if you select the chords under the tracks menu place all the backing track onto the midi tracks in real time.then just open from single to multi track, and there you are the complete midi of what you have played.hope these hints might help you oldsage
