the files that are downloaded...are they zipped?... the ones i download from the new midi section are ..... you need to have winzip to open them.... go to www.oldversion.com and download winzip 8 or lower that should solve some of your problem.... email me one of the files to have a look. ironbaden@gmail.com ;D

There could be other possibilities here....
You say you get the message Page cannot be loaded, or something sinilar... How then do you download them. The only reason for page cannot be displayed is that the server is down (which can happen from time to time) or the link was posted incorrectly.
The only other reason for the files not to be played is that you or someone may have inadvertently modified your file player. By this I mean, when you open a mid or kar or mp3 file, they are not recognised by your file player to play these.
Try going to your file player and edit the recognisable file extensions and make sure your file player is the default player for these files....
Another reason could be and most likely is, that your file player is not recognised as the Browser player. I use windows media player, for this I have told it to play .mp3 .wav .aud and others but unticked .mid as I have told my sequencer to be the default on .mid files.
Hope this helps.

I'll just add my twopennyworth in. I have found that on some of the files I ger the message
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located a removable storage card, insert the storage card
I am obviously connected st the tile acnd cannot fathom it out.

Glad to help dingadong...
Geraint, if you get that message, forward the file to me mate - I give a good go at sorting it.....
I have a little gizmo that someone gave me for sorting out corrupt files. It's called a PC file advisor..... USB device but it cleans files and rebuilds them to what it should be. (or nearly all files) will not work with mp3, wmv, divx, vid etc but usually works with midi. Only if the file can be opened.... Header file errors, or total corrupt files will not work.
I'll give it a go for you tho...

Thanks Glenn
If I save the file rather than open it, its fine, its only when I try to open it directly that I get the message.
