After years of searching for decent quality midi files I have discovered this amazing site. The midis are of fantastic quality and sound amazing played through my Yamaha keyboard. The one huge dissapointment though, is that the files have no lead line. I cannot actually play an instrument so I have been pondering this question....would it be possible for me to add a lead line using a step entry editor of some sort? Could anyone recommend a package that I could use to do this? Any advice greatly appreciated Thanks.

Hi Bud, and welcome to the forum..... Yes, it is quite easy if your familiar with step editing, (sausages on lines as a friend of mine calls this). All you need is a sequencer and the best one for FREE is The JazzWare sequencer...... There are better ones obviously, but you can't get better than FREE!!! Here is the link.... Jazz Midi SequencerJust load in the midi-file and right-click on a blank track in the main window.... This is the step editor..... Enter the notes (remember to save often), assign the track an instrument.... Sit back and listen..... Even if you make an hash of it, it is fun to play with.....
