I use the JAZZ midi sequencer which I downloaded from this site. Everything seems ok apart from with one file. The John Miles hit "Music" (again from midimart) plays fine until the end of the first instrumental, when everything is obliterated by a prolonged bass note. I have tried everything I can to get rid of it, but failed. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Sir....You have what is known as a stuck note. As I am not familiar with your sequencer, I do not know how to tell you to turn it off. Maybe Glenn will know.

Hi Geraint.
This sometimes happens my friend. The quickest and easiest way to eliminate stuck notes is to shorten them to their original length. On a bass line, this is the most easiest but the remedy will be the same for all tracks, including the drum track.
The bass line on this track is at the top. Track 2 - Fingered Bass 34. Just slide along until you get the the part where the stuck note is (I can't find any stuck notes on my track) and RIGHT click on the track in the main window at the point where the stuck note starts.
This will bring up a window with a piano keyboard on the left and editing tools at the top.
Left click the icon with - and a small arrow symbol above it. It is the second one from the left.
This is the length symbol. scroll up or down until you find the (sausages on the lines) note that is too long. Left click and drag to the normal length. Or cut it where the note should end.
Close the window. Play, if all is OK, save and job done.
Hope that helps mate.
