Well guys, I just have to boast and brag at how far I've come in learning the ins and outs of MIDI.
A week ago I learned binary and hexadecimal to try to get a better grasp of how some of the more complicated controllers work in MIDI and it really helped me a lot in understanding how MIDI works.
Ok now for my bragging. ;D First, for those of you who don't know, the MIDI Manufacturer's Association are the ones who set up the General MIDI standard in the 80's so that all of us can enjoy and use MIDI files with some degree of compatibility.
Anyway, I was looking at their website and found a major mistake. That boo boo has been sitting there for years! I wrote to them about it and got a reply that they are going to fix it. It took a 'newbie' like me to let the guys who pretty much invented this stuff they made a boo boo! I'm all big headed and patting myself on the back about it because it wasn't all that long ago that I didn't even understand what the acronym MIDI stood for, let alone how it worked! Quick! Somebody grease my swollen head so I can squeeze through double doors! LOL!!
