Hi All,
I'm not sure if this should be in tech questions cause it is more of a request than a hitch. Does anyone out there happen to have instructions for a Roland Sound Canvas SC-88vl in pdf format (or any format) I can't find mine anywhere and Roland UK don't give free handouts for old gear. I need to do a factory reset and can't remember which buttons to hold in when I switch the d**n thing on. (I'm more of a muso than a gear junky. Therefor - a bit thick) Would be appreciated if anyone out there could mail them to me.
Regards Stivy

Just found this. I bought one a while back to use in the studio (I use an SC88 out live). It has exctly the same sound set as the SC88, so no more dragging my rack in every time I want to work on tracks.
Any way, in answer to your question,
To Initialise in GM
While holding down the right-hand PART button, switch on. Press ALL to reset.
To Initialise in GS
While holding down the right -hand INSTRUMENT button, switch on. Press ALL to reset.
To Initialise to factory settings:
While holding down BOTH INSTRUMENT buttons, switch on. Press all to reset.
I'm afraid I don't have the time to PDA my manual, but if you have specific questions, try me.
How about a wanted add on Ebay?? You never know.....

Thanks very much Dave, much appreciated. I've cut & pasted the instructions you've given so hopefully I won't lose them again.

Hi, Stivy, I own the Roland_Equipment yahoogroup. You will be pleased to know that you can find a free downloadable manual for the SC-88-VL here: www.rolandus.com/mojo/manuals.aspxYou will have to register with the site for access to the manual's but to me it's well worth it. Cat >^..^<

Thank You Very Much JazzCat, Sorry It's taken a while to say thx but I've been playing my geetar round Europe for a couple of months. Absolutely invaluable. I think Roland have a bit of a cheat charging for the manual for something thats obsolete now. Especially when all the other manufacturers supply them on the net for nothing. Once again Thanks. Any time Stivy! BUT....They do NOT charge for manual downloads. I just signed in and downloaded a manual to double check. It didn't cost me anything but the time to do it. Roland was very late to jump on the bandwagon for free downloads of manuals. They were put under a lot of pressure from users griping that Roland's competition did offer free manual downloads. Roland had to cave in or lose a lot of customers. Cat >^..^<
