Hi Guys.. ......Ive recently been sequencing some songs from my PSRS 700 and editing on CWPA........ I find lately theres 100.s of unwanted system msgs which seems to be slowing everything down .........we.ve touched on editing events and deleting or thinning out controler events in another thread .. but is there an easy way of mass deleting these instead of manually as there seems to be more sys data than ever now coming from the Yamaha..........there's prob a way of deleting it on the kb but Im more familiar with CW.......thanx again for helping me out here ...........regards Barry

When you say "system messages" or "sys data" Barry, it would help if you were a bit more specific. Do you mean System Exclusive messages or loads of controller events? Regards, JohnG.

Sorry John wasn't precise enough. ...in th sysx view in CW there are tons of stored banks with probably sytstem exclusive data in them.........don't think I really need them and have deleted them in the past and its made a big difference to the sequence..i.e. playing without skipping or stalling....hope Ive explaned this ok.........thanx again..........regards Barry

Sorry Barry, It didn't get lost it's just my inability to process all the tutorials and requests all at once! As far as I know, but I haven't done any more detailed research, there is only one place to delete SysEx banks and that is in the "View / Sysx" window. It doesn't even allow a multiple select and delete, you have to do them one at a time. I will try to see if there is any more info. However you may be able to exclude sysex messages getting recorded by using a filter. I think in "options / global / MIDI tab" you can un-tick "record / system exclusive" then they will all be rejected, even the ones you do want!. Does that help? Regards, JohnG.

Ok John thanx for the tip on that one.. ......was thinking might be worth looking into that option on my KB.......when finishing my sequence might just save without these sysex msgs altogether might save a lot of hassle later on.........if you come up with some more info on this please let me know...Thanx John regards Barry
