Hi ezduzit411 Don't know why you are having trouble with a .kar file, it should load with no problems. Send it to us and we will see what we can do for you. The only reason I can think it will not play is that the file has been corrupted in some way whilst downloading it. Post it to mail@midimart.net we will take a look at it for you. Regards

A very interesting dilemma you have encountered. As it is something I have encountered myself I can fully and totally identify with your frustration.
Sometimes when I download files from the Internet they plays perfectly fine, karaoke and everything, especially when I use it with Vanbasco. but it does not always reproduce the same results when using a different karaoke player.
What I found is that sometimes when karaoke is input into an existing file it comes out as "soft karaoke." Usually this type of karaoke will work well with any sequencer but occasionally it will not.
Here's how I've learned to solve the problem.
You will need to re-enter the karaoke file yourself - this is a very easy and straightforward process and takes only a few minutes of your time.
Type in the word KARACAN into your search engine and download this wonderful free product. It is extremely easy to use. The only drawback is your midi file will have to have a melody line. The melody line is very important for adding in the karaoke.
If you need more help let me know.

Problem solved very easy...... Just change .kar into .mid Simplicity itself... I find it best if you load it into a media player (I use windows media player) and save as.... filename.mid Wallah!!!!!

No Falcon not Wally - Wallah!!! as in simple. (There you go!) maybe it's an old Nottingham slang and not known to everyone.
There are one or two that I know of, that can offend others, but here mean different things.... Like TABS, in Notts it means ears, but in Birmingham it means ladies breasts. Another is DUCK as in A Up Me Duck (hello), or Thanks Duck (thank you). This is not offensive just a quaint old Nottingham slang...

It is probably from the the French word "Voila".
