Seems 3D TV is actually here! Apparently the technology has been around for some time using those special glasses but now there are TVs that produce 3D images without the need for such eye wear? Personally anything that will enhance my TV watching experience (I currently have HD TV from Sky and the images are truly amazing, especially when watching the National Geographic Channel, for example) so if 3D TV becomes available domestically then I will certainly upgrade to it. Some have no interest in such advances; I have a brother, for example, who is happy enough with his (almost) 10 year old TV and will only change it if absolutely necessary. Nothing against that, that's his choice Anyway, will anyone here be getting in 3D TV when it becomes available for the domestic market?

Pat !! 3D Television ? Colour ? Jeez, I still watch a Black and White one !! Its a 12 inch Bush, in a brown bakelite case bought in 1953 to watch the Coronation ! It cost 83 Pounds (120 US Dollars) at the time, which represented 10 weeks wages, and the TV Licence is cheap too. In another 2 years, I will get a free TV Licence, so if I save that each year from when I qualify at 75, I should be able to afford one of these new-fangled 'Colour TVs' when I am 85 !! I only ever switch my TV on for an hour every night to watch the news, as I have much better and more interesting things to do than sit doing nothing. OK, I watch films on my computer, but I can choose exactly what I want to see and when! I see these HD Flat screen TV's in the shops at over 1,000 pounds - and to me, as a poor old age State Pensioner - they are way out of my affordability zone. I would rather buy some music gear - at least it is 'interactive' - and that is the key word ! Happy viewing folks, if it floats your boat !! All 'Tongue in Cheek' Tone Deff (John, the 'Musicmaker')
