OK, I want to be the first one !
It's more about audio then midi.
I have my PC and midi equipement in my livingroom and as long as I don't make too much noise my wife wont kill me. So I work with headphones which is no good for mixing.
What I want to do is using a second PC in my hobbyroom to take over PC1 in the livingroom.
The audio comming from my soundmodule goes back to my hobbyroom just to be amplyfied to a good volume. That's a better way for mixing. What worries me is that the cable (audio) will be over 25 m and I think the quality wont be good. Do you have any advise ?

Good question.
This is not an area where I'm qualified but I will have a go. No doubt others will come along with sounder advice.
In a situation such as this a lot depends on the overall quality of the audio cable. However, 25 meters is fairly long and it might be necessary to use some sort of a booster. I've only ever heard that such "boosters" exists and if they do this might be an option worth exploring.

Hi Jerry. Would it not be possible to re-locate your midi equipment into your hobby room and eliminate this problem without more expenditure. Just a thought!!!  It'll also keep you out of your little Lady's way and avoid being killed off.... ;D MidiMart |

Jerry why not try using one of those audio senders. That's what I use and I get fairly good results, excellent in fact.. They can be bought for around 40 quid in most audio video stores. And no cables!

Midimart, moving to my hobby room is no solution. She will kill me anyway because she won't see me anymore. I spend almost all of my free time on music. Maybe I'll get another wife  ;D Hex, a hexcellent idea !! I think I'll just do that. Thanks. |
