Quite a revelation of dislikes . I have always been fond of the sound of bagpipes, but I do agree ......... an overdose of the instrument can drive one crazy. You guys must be hearing a LOT of them where you are. The Australian DIDGERIDOO is a queer instrument too and I've yet to hear anyone actually create a tune with it. The Sitar, when used to play Indian Classical stuff sounds really good but when used in "fusion" with other Western instruments, somehow, tends to lose its soul and sounds quite "false" in accompaniments .

Weegeo At what stage in your life did you become a real musician? (only joking). Does anyone else have a hidden past on the sticks/behind the tin cans. PS I do know a couple of session drummers who can put us muso's to shame with reading music to a very high level. Perhaps a Drummers appreciation society should be formed within MidiMart.

At 15 I was in the school bugle band playing the side or snare drum! Doesn't really count though, does it? JohnG.

George, thats a great suggestion. It'll be great to have a Drum Lovers Longe or a Drummers Appreciation Lounge in our Forum. ...... it will be worth hearig from the drummers in our Forum and we can sure use some of their valuable advice . Drummers who digitally program can lend us their advice and expertise. I hope the Administratirs will consider the request,

My choice has to be the glockenspiel. With Pats selection of the xylophone I think these two instruments from the same family have to be the most annoying sounding. The glockenspiel has metal bars instead of the wodden ones from a xylophone, which leaves you with a very bad ringing sound in your ears that can stay with you for hours. I used to play in an accordian marching band which consisted of 60+ members. We had a full percussion section and we also had a glockenspiel to add to our sound. As terrible as it may sound I used to love it when the player was off sick. Absolutely horrible instrument.
