Really nice pic, Barry. Ali was the greatest and a "pucca" gentleman. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for the piccie Barry. I remember watching the fight with our 'Enery. Henry Cooper that is, the only man I think who knocked him down. My did he looked surprised. He then did a massacre on Henry's eyes, his known weak spot. Henry retired.
Er ... shouldn't that be "Muhammed Ali and me", not myself. Sorry to be pedantic, I teach some English over here in Germany and they always ask "why do English speakers not speak their language properly!" I hear so many people using the "..self" instead of me or us etc.
OTOH you can always tell me to shutup! JohnG.

Yes John you are correct there. ...........I'm usually a stickler for spellings and grammar myself ...always pulling my family up on little things ;D I suppose you could always say Muhammed Ali and I as well............thanx for that John.....now better hide this post before the missus sees it ..I'd never live it down lol ;D

Ha ha, knew that would get you going! No, only M.A. and I e.g. went to the boxing match. i.e. followed by a verb. e.g. I went. When it is just "him and me" e.g. a picture of him and me then not him and I. What a pedantic old b@st@rd I have become. It comes from teaching English (which I never did until I came here). My apologies. JohnG. You'll have to alter the title again!

And who can argue what with all the literary scholars we have produced!! I have a degree in English Literature and my grammar is appaling at times...once the message gets across is the main thing Barry..lol. BTW....gr8 pic m8...a real treasure to have!!

Gee, John, I don't recall you corrected me and I know my spelling and grammar are simply atrocious! I only look sort of edj-a-ma-kay-ted because of my diligent use of spell check! LOL Just get on a live chat with me and you'll have the fright of your life trying to read through my incessant typos and misspellings!

Too much of a gentleman to do that to you Cat! (If you believe that you'll believe anything!) Typos and so on ... yea me too, live. I've corrected a few in my articles which I have re-read. But this ain't typos it'S BLATANT BAD GRANDMA. Nobody says you and myself, it's you and me. Or, you and I (we) are going to the theatre. And whilst I'm steaming, you could say me and M.A., Barry BUT politeness dictates you put others first. e.g. not me and him but him and me. Okay, okay ... rant over! That was a high horse wasn't it? JohnG.

If i were to play " Advocatus Diaboli "in this interesting discussion, and having studied the rights and wrongs of the correct use of the English language, i would have to say that saying "Me and Dave" or "Dave and I" does not really matter to anyone....or does anyone really care?? Why, i remember once Prince Charles doing an interview where he mentioned "Me and the boys"...obviously talking about his two sons. There we have it..."Me and Charlie"...two of a kind!! ;D

Ah well, he is heir to the throne (not saying which kind) isn't he? So normal rules of etiquette don't apply. "Charles and me". But you're right, very few really care. But language is important, otherwise we fail to express ourselves in ways that other people understand like man. Like you know what I like mean? And who has ever held Charlie boy up as the epitome of correct use of grammar? Oh well! JohnG.
