Hi everyone I'm having a problem when I copy and past in the piano roll in the drum section, channel 10 There's two sections (snare) when I fix one section the other section rearranges it's self and it's all out of place, then when i fix that section and play the midi file again the other section has parts all out of time, and so it goes on. I then delete all that section and reinsert the correct beats and the same thing happens again. If you can help I would appreciate it.
Regards Steve

Hi Steve, When you do multiple pastes in CW, if you edit one section of the pasted data it'll change each seperate pasted section. This is because the copy you're pasting is actually in the volatile (clipboard) memory, not the track where it appears to be. The solution is this; paste a (one) section, edit that as desired, then save the sequence, close it and then re-open it. It will now register as a permanent part of the sequence and you can just repeat the whole thing. Another work-around is to paste all the sections you want to edit, then save/close/open so that you have your basic track before you edit anything. So, in the example you gave, save both snare parts into the track and then close, reopen and edit each. I hope this makes sense to you. Ask away if you have any questions

Thanks gibbo
You hit the nail right on the head.
It's only taken me two days to try and work that out, thanks to you, I can now move on to the cymbal part, don't go anywhere.
I'll try and catch you at one of your gigs and I'll introduce myself.
I'm part of a duo called Boarderline (Brian & Steve) so if you see us around come and say hello I'd like to thank you in person
Thanks again Steve

Hey steve, you could also try selecting all the clips you want to join in the one track (only) and then right click and "combine". The clips are then not highlighted with the dotted border meaning they won't be affected. This way you can make verse and chorus clips etc...No need then to open and close the file...
