For years I have been running two amps...mainly because of the spacious sound I get especially with a chorus effect. Also, I EQ the top amp toward the treble end and the bottom amp toward the bass end. When I stand away and listen, you cant tell there are two amps sounding, but the sound is full and rich....I guess kind of like passive bi-amping. However, as I scale down my equipment (so I can carry it in my car), I'm starting to wonder if I would ever be satisfied with just one amp. Is there an amp out there that would give me approximately the same sound? I've looked at the Roland Jazz Chorus amp, and reviews rave about the chorus effect...but it's pricey. Used ones don't appear on E-bay a lot and I'm a little scared of buying an amp that way, especially with no warranty. So come on, all you guitar lovers, educate me and help me save my back.....please! LOL
Thanks!
Charlie

Hi Charlie, the Roland Jazz Chorus amp is a very nice amp in deed. You could try and hire one for a night, if that is possible. Have you tried just one of your own amps and adjust the settings accordingly to see what sound you get, I would imagine that you wouldn't get the 'fullness' of two amps. I have heard the Roland amp and I can say that it has a sound all of it's own.

Hi Charlie, I've just acquired a second amp, just to play with really, and that's a Crate Powerblock. It runs 150w into 8 ohms mono or 2 x 75w into 2 x 4 ohms, and I have to say it sounds pretty good into 2 x Celestion G100's. And off Ebay I paid only £77. Unfortunately they've ceased production of this great little power plant.
