jUST HAD MY RENEWAL NOTICE AND DECIDED TO READ A LITTLE CLOSER. ITS VERY IMPORTANT NOW DAYS TO HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY COVER AND THIS SEEMS TO BE OK HOWEVER WHEN LOOKING AT THE TERMS AND WHAT I MUST DO, SHOULD I NEED TO CLAIM FOR LOSS TO MY GEAR, DUE TO THEFT ACCIDENT ETC; I HAVEN'T GOT A CHANCE OF SECEDING. I TRY AND MAKE CARRYING EASIER SO MY SYNTHS ARE IN PADDED BAGS BUT FOR CLAIM PURPOSES THEY SHOULD BE IN RIDGED CASES. THEY MUST NOT BE LEFT IN MY CAR, IN MY GARAGE, MUST BE IN MY HOUSE, DOORS OF WHICH SHOULD BE FITTED WITH APPROVED LOCKS OF AT LEAST FIVE LEVERS. AS A WORKING MUSICIAN (31 YEARS) I HAVE SPARES OF MOST OF MY EQUIPMENT SO WILL NOW BE LOOKING TO COVER JUST THE PUBLIC LIABILITY SIDE. SOME OF YOU MAY NOT HAVE LOOKED SO CLOSE AND MAY WISH TO DO SO OR PERHAPS HAVE FOUND A BETTER WAY, I HOPE SO. IN CONCLUSION, I THOUGHT IT STRANGE THAT THERE WAS NO MENTION OF EQUIPMENT NEEDING PAT CERTIFICATE'S; JUST ANOTHER WAY TO ESCAPE CLAIMS, IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT ONE. NO DOUBT IF I LOST SOMETHING THAT MIGHT HELP ME LOOK FOR IT.

Dont know what country you are in but The Prudential was my insurance company for band gear in the UK and New Zealand. It covered travelling and stage. House content insurance covered it at home.

I have the cheapest insurance of all and that is ...I never leave my equipment out of my sight. It's either on stage with me or in my hand or in the car with me.

And what's wrong with a sleeping bag on stage may I ask? Are you implying that it is in some way strange?
