Many thanks Wee George, Many thanks for the offer, I suspect the background music will be all classical, with Bach, Telemann and many other Baroque composers featuring highly. We thought of hiring the Amadeus Quartet but they came in a bit pricey! So we then turned to the "Tafelmusik des Barock" (a local trio), but they said they would have trouble getting their harpsichord upstairs. So if you know of someone with a Roland electronic harpsichord, who can play figured bass, a violinist and a cellist who would like a trip to the Eifel area of Germany for a gig, please let me know. Thanks for the good advice. See previous post. lol. JohnG.

Thanks again all,
Not quite sure what I've done to "deserve" a happy future (like I watch the models in the adds saying "go on, you deserve it!") and I think "why?" what have they done to deserve it? Is having massive vanity a reason? Not in my book. But then I don't understand much that goes on today' let alone Jonathan Ross et al.
Nonetheless I thank you all heartily for your warm wishes. I shall certainly do my best to make Susanne happy as I think she will me. I am heartily looking forward to our tiny ceremony though.
Mmmmm. Wee Georgie. MIDIs I don't have yet of the stuff for the ceremony. Nor anything planned for the reception. I imagine it's going to be some canned musak for the latter. I'm busy putting together the ceremony music right now.
Sadly, now Susanne is down with this d@mned virus and not feeling at all well. She hasn't sung for more than a week now and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms! All resources are going into trying to get her well.

I hope Susanne gets better soon, John. At least in time for the wedding ;d
I am down a bit myself and have a convention to attend this Saturday in London so hopefully the sniffles disappear by then.

Thanks Pat,
At last Susanne is showing a little improvement this morning. With just over a week to go it's all a bit hectic. Pat, I do hope that the sniffles don't turn into what we've just had. It's the nastiest virus I can remember in many a long year. Hope you're feeling well enough for the convention and that it goes with a swing.
All the best, JohnG.

I am feeling a bit better, thank you, John. My head, though, is still a little swampy. We fly to London tomorrow morning and return Sunday evening.
Good to hear Susanne is on the mend.

Er, ... well, ... it ain't quite that simple JazzCat! This is a woman with a mind of her own. A doctor of languages no less! Beats me why she wants to get hitched to an uneducated toe rag like me! The question was popped several years ago. Now I've heard that it can take a woman a little while to make up her mind and that she is allowed to change it overnight if she pleases. So I have applied no pressure. I must have bought her the right Christmas present last year as this year she agreed to tie the knot early this year. Clearly I'm not that much of a catch! Mostly said in jest. And thanks very much for the kind wishes. All the best, JohnG P.S. Hope you had a good weekend in the Big Smoke Pat?

Gosh and golly! (Batman and Robin, 60s),
Shyam my friend, that is SO very kind of you.
I am really, truly touched by your beautiful card.
I shall copy it and print it out on a piece of glossy card and put it on display in our lounge. It will remind me (during the cold winter months ahead) of the warm heartedness of my friend in the warmth of his country of India. A country which I really MUST now try to visit in the not too distant future. As funds allow.
I wish you all the very best in your fight with the authorities and hope you solve your current problems with the hotel.
Thank you once again, so very kind and thoughtful. JohnG.

Hi Pat and Wee Georgie, Glad you had a good trip Pat and I bet it was great to see your grand-daughter. I never understood, as a child, why adults kept saying "my haven't you grown!" Now I do. Thank you George for your good wishes and I pray for reasonable weather too. Just as long as it doesn't rain. Please! Yep if there are any that don't shatter the photographers' lenses then I might post a piccy, even two! Less of the "old man" if you don't mind! Crikey! Just realised I missed one or two posts from others here Jimmy G for one and Alan (Foothillsound) and probably others too. Thanks again all, for your good wishes, JohnG. P.S. Only two days of freedom. What me nervous? Not likely!

Two days of freedom ;d Yes, it may seem like that but if your marriage is anything like mine it will actually feel more like a liberation.
