Hi Guys I don't know if this has been brought up before,(me thinks it has) Is anyone out there using this system?I've been on various websites etc.researching, but i'm a little confused. I play in a 2 piece group,2 minidisk players,2 guitars and my partner doubles on keyboards.Which parts would we need to buy ?Obviously we would need the pole, base, bass bin. What else do we need? Can you plug a bigger mixing desk into the system?Any help would be appreciated.BTW we play in a venue holding 200-people. regards Eddie

Hi, Weeo, I know of a few people using this system, nice & compact & fantastic sound. Some use just a single one (pole (radial speakers), base (the amp) & bass bin), some use 2, but it's basically like using powered speakers, you would need a mixer. So I guess you would just need to buy a mixer which will handle all your needs.

Hello Weeo,
This past summer I was at a beach resort for a couple of days just to get away. There's a llittle bar/restaurant I go to when I'm there because the food is great and they usually have duos. Since that is my format, I like to check out what other duos are doing to learn something new I can take back with me. Well, as it turned out, the crowd was small and most of the people weren't even paying any attention to them. My girlfriend and I sat up close to them and I saw they were using the Bose L1's...two complete sets....running midi MP3's on a laptop. Perfect!!! I introduced myself and the next thing you know I was on stage sitting in and singing 3 songs with them. The sound, let me tell you, was awesome. Complete surround sound....I could hear everything the audience was hearing. They did have a mixer and the guitarist ran his signal straight into the Bose L1's...sounded fabulous. If I could afford to go that route, especially for smaller venues, I would do so in a heartbeat. The systems are somewhat pricey...around $2500 per system....but the sound...so worth it. I hope this helps.
Charlie

Hi weeo, Thought I'd add my tuppence in... My duo ( 2 vocals, 2 guitar and sequencer) went down the L1 route, and sold it after around 10 gigs. We had 2 of the L1 subs, and found that the whole system really lacked punch - absolutely amazing for a quiet gig doing solo or duo acoustic stuff, but totally underwhelming for good ol' rock and roll! I went out with the wireless guitar to the back of the venues to listen, and although the L1 was probably projecting better than say, a good PA at a given volume, it just wasn't there, mate. We tried pumping up the volume, but nearly deafened ourselves in the process. Replaced with a Martin Audio setup. Maybe it's all down to us setting the thing up wrong, as there are plenty of people to recommend the Bose, but it would be a good idea to try b4 you buy. Jacko.

Thanks Jacko You've just confirmed what i was thinking.I heard a local band using the system, and the bottom end didn't come across very well. They were using two bass units each, but it didn't do it for me. Thanks for your input regards Eddie
