Hi guys and gals... ....................was wondering if anyone here can reccomend a good entry level keyboard/arranger for me as Im now taking lessons (being a guitar man myself) ....dont really have a clue .......I saw the demo of the Yamaha PSR 3000 and it seems pretty impressive especially as I write a lot of my own material I think someting in that line would suit me..........I hear now that this model has been discontinued and replaced by the PSR S900..........a bit expensive for me to start off with though unless I could pick up a secondhand one maybe.......any help or suggestions would be great...........Im a one man band and play guitar and use b tracks midi files.......but hope to introduce the keyboard to my act eventually......all depends how quick I pick things up I suppose. ;D..............thanx guys.....regards .....Barry

I still use my PSR-2000 along with my PSR S-900. I would reccomend it as a very good entry level Keyboard. I would say If you do a quick search you will be able to pick up one very cheap.
Hope this helps, and good luck with the lessons

Hi everybody,
Has anyone of you tried the PRS S700? I´m thinking of getting a new keyboard and saw this one. It´s the smallest Yamaha model with the Mega Voice function and it´s quite a lot cheaper than the S900. It has direct internet connection and song auto revoice which is said to enhance the midi file sound. Any thoughts?
Like Barry I would appreciate all advice I can get. I´m no newbee to keyboard but not a pro either. Cheers Lena

The 3000 was the updated model of the 2000 so there was a lot of extras including voices and styles and I think the 3000 had a colour LCD screen. Again both keyboards are discontinued so they will be hard to find, but If you keep searching I'm sure you'll get yourself a bargain.

Try the s-500 or now updated to s-550!! which has 64 note polyphony! and style creator! s-700 is very good, but your getting up in price range!! goto rocking rooster on the net!! they are about the cheapest i have found and delivered mine the next day(at8.30 in the morning)!!

Thanks for the advice, Steve, I will certainly try out the S550 - if possible that is, because the model doesn´t seem to be available here yet (checked on the net). Will take a trip downtown to the Yamaha store and investigate further.
I found your comment on the S500 from last year and saw that you were very pleased with it.
Cheers Lena

Well got my Yamaha PSR S700 ordered should be here in a week or so.......really looking forward to it ....going by the You Tube demos it seems be right up my street and sufficient for me as a beginner.....was kinda tempted by the S900 though but a bit pricey and beyond my budget............so Lena Ill let ya know how I get on with it ........should be worlds apart from the XP 10.........regards..........Barry
