Hi, has anyone used / using software based vocal effects? Which one and how well does it work?

When you say 'software', I assume you mean VST plug-ins for DAW software like Cubase.

Well, the best ones cost a shed load of money, and they aren't strictly for vocals.
Audio Ease Altiverb is one of the expensive ones, and for good reason.
