The great man Ronnie Drew has passed away,he had been ill for sometime now but it still has come as a shock. He leaves behind a greatly diverse legacy having come from the famous `Dubliners`to writing songs,poetry and many other projects,he will be very sadly missed and he now joins the select few in God`s choir

Yes, a great entertainer and although I wasn't personally a fan of his style of music I had immense respect for his achievements in the world of entertainment.
I remember seeing him once in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, which is just outside Dublin, and found him to be a lovely, approachable sort.

R.I.P.
A very sad loss to the music world. A true gentleman and an excellent talent in his own right. He will be sadly missed indeed. His style, like it or not was unique, something that we don't hear to often these days.
