Hi all Perhaps someone can help me along a bit here.. I'm using a powered mixer with built in effects (reverb for vocals) , a korg ToneWorks gutar effects, midi backing tracks (which I intend to convert to MP3) semi-accoustic guitar. It just seems that there's something missing. It works great with ballads and the soppy stuff but when it's time to get upbeat, that's when there seems to be a "missing link"..perhaps someone can give me some advice (on a very restricted budget).

Do you mean that the upbeat stuff has no "drive".If so try double tracking the Bass transpose 1 track up an octave and use the mute electric guitar. This will give the file a bit of a romp. If using stereo pan bass to 48 and mute guitar 72.Hope this is of help.
