Recently I have noticed that our audience wants to continue to dance while we are on break, especially the young and young at heart. That has given me an idea to maybe incorporate a DJ type show while we're on break. Of course that means I won't get a break, but it also means that we can keep the audience longer throught the night and the lounge manager loves that. I have checked on several websites that book duos (which is what we are) and several of the duos are doing just that...DJ-ing the breaks...and getting paid extra too. I doubt that we (or should I say I) won't be getting any more pay, at least until the idea catches on..and folks really like it. That way, I might have a little leverage with the lounge manager. Who knows? Just an idea...what do you guys think?

Hi Charlie, We are sometimes asked to provide music during the breaks and up till now I've just used my Ipod through the mixer, from previously created playlists. But more recently I've purchased a twin deck SD card player and am busily converting all my midifiles to MP3's to use on the SD cards. I will also be able to DJ by transferring MP3's onto the SD cards and mixing as if they were CD's. The unit I bought was an American Audio SDJ1 and cost me £164.50 inc p&p. When I get all my midifiles transferred to mp3, I shall use it in anger and post a report on the forum.
