Hi
Just joined today. My friend and I have been playing together for about 5 years although we know eachother for 20+ years. We gig with backing tracks purely for enjoyment. We dont do this full time. WE are both full time Systems Analyst and love music and playing together. We both play guitar and sing so all of our midi files have the guitars removed basically leaving only the drums and bass. WE use a laptop with Vanbasco file player and the laptop is connected to the Edirol SD80 sound module. We play guitar orientated rock music from the 70,80, 90 and today. Our last gig was 22 June 08 and our next one is a wedding on 18th August. Very excited.
Searching for good quality free midis is a challenge and is basically a hit and miss experience. In fact have been using all free midis until yesterday where we bought our first professional ones: Snow patrol All That I have and Smashmouth 'I'm a believer'. I'll kill myself if the above two are availble here :-)
Thanks for listening.
Patrick

Yes, Welcome Patrick,
We had a little poll a while ago (in Talking Point)where we had a vote on which country where the most members lived and the last time I looked Australia was one of the leaders with the most votes so welcome again and enjoy your time on the forum and if you can go and put another vote in for us in Oz, that would be great

Many Thanks for all your kind words of welcome We often do need help with midi files especially if the files we find are XG drums and our Edirol SD80 just wont play My editing skills is so minimal, it's not funny :-) When you come from a live band background in the early days, diving into midi is a challenge. We're no spring chicken :-) Members stage? Where is it? What's that for, without looking into it. A Place where we upload some recordings? Rgds pat
