I've been using Limewire for quite some years now, first with their Free version and now with the Limewire Pro. Its distressing to note the number of "Trojans" that are coming in and I guess my PC would have gone kaput if it wasnt for the very efficient Kaspersky Anti Virus, that I have installed. Do any of you use Limewire and have you noticed this activity ? What do youu use for music downloads and what P2P links can be trusted ?

Hi shyam i was looking for a midifile went to this site which looked ok prolly was but some1 decided to fill it up with about 5 trojans i use nod32 and it detected the trojans right away and put them in quarantine. to be honest i dont think there are a lot of sites out there which you could trust 100% which is a shame so idont think its the software you are using its just the sites we go on

Hi there Shyam i don`t use limewire at all i always had trojan probs with it going back a few years if it`s music as in cd`s or albums i use piratebay very successfully without the old trojan horses lol lol it has the added advantage of being free I will have my son Mark sort out the dictation thing for you with pleasure i don`t know what it is so i can`t really explain except to say all i do is talk and it saves to file
On a more personal note may i say thanx on behalf of my family for all the support that we have recieved from you all over my grandaughters case i`m sure you will have seen or heard on the local and national press we got a guilty verdict and the culprit will be sentenced on the 24th June you guys helped keep me sane thanx George

Hey Shyam,
The best music download site I have discovered is Cabos. They offered several different package deals complete with top notch anti-virus software and lifetime membership. It was a little pricey...around $65, but I can download any MP3 file in existence...brand new or 50 years old....no trojans or bugs...and a lifetime membeship. You ought to check it out. Cabos...has three search engines...not really sure how it works...I only know it does...

It is based on LimeWire's source code, and has a similar feel in terms of interface. It lacks the chat and library features found in LimeWire. LimeWire is written in Java, however the GUI of Cabos is written in REALbasic.

Thanks John - I checked the Net and noticed Cabos was, indeed, free . I downloaded Cabos and was going to run it when my AntiVirus, Kaspersky, found some virus in it and suggested deleting it, so I did that. I'll try again or look for something else. Actually, I subscribed to Limewire Pro and it was clearly said that it was a one time membership for some 22 USD, but now they inform me that its expired . The bugs and viruses have come in after this ! How do you rate Bearshare?

With Bareshare you will be inundated with ads! Shyam, I have been using Limwire for many years and have never experienced the problems you are encountering. Another thing, my understanding is the only time there is a recurring charge for the Pro version is if you have opted for Pro Plus. By the way, you might want to try: www.morpheus.com/

I have Limewire Pro and have never had any real problems when it comes to Video or Audio, other than they are often labelled incorrectly or are incomplete. Downloading programmes is definately asking for trouble as far as Trojans and spyware etc is concerned.

Hi Shyam, I use Ares P2 to P2 share. So far I have found it the best of the free share programs that I have tried. Hope you have some luck with it. It's also free. Cheers Lyn

Hi Weegeo, I didn't realise I could go into a room. Will check it out when my computer has a little more hard drive capacity. At the moment I rarely have Ares up as I can only use my laptop. My PC crashed months ago.
Hi Shyam, Glad I could be of some help. It's good you couldn't get Morpheus. I once had it and got heaps of viruses. I've had Ares for quite a while now and have been more than satisfied with it.
Cheers to you both, Lyn
