Hi,
I recently installed WMP 11 which is great compared to my previous WMP 9 -- except for one thing. All my midi files opened in WMP 11 until I set my PC to always open in Cakewalk. My midifiles now open in Cakewalk OK but there is no sound. I reckon this has something to do with settings in Options - Midi Devices. I have tried various settings but still silence. Can anyone advise me how to set this option so I can get my sound restored. I am using an Audigy Soundcard.
Hope someone can follow my problem as I just can't get my old head around this.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Tiny,
Thank you so much for your help with my volume problem. When I got to the bottom for midi settings I found I don't have creative sounds, but my volume was set at Zero for Midi synth so I increased this to level 8. Also under Audio settings I ticked the "Use only default settings" box. I went back to check some midi files and hey presto, my volume is there loud and clear.
Again my sincere thanks for pointing me in the right direction - that's one I owe you!!
Just shows yet again, this must be the best forum on the planet.
Thanks again, Tiny & kind regards,
Peter.
