What is the real story about why Frank Sinatra sang "My Way"
? Did the lyrics mean anything to him ? Did he sing it for someone ? Who wrote the lyrics for him ?
Questions, questions, questions,and I'm curious to learn more about this. Yes, I sing it and many request the song and I do FEEL what I think the lyrics are, but, truthfully, I do not know the actual background of this very requested popular song and I wish some enlightened member will explain this to me.

I believe the lyrics were written by Paul Anka ( he of Diana Fame) but I am sure if I am incorrect someone will put me right.

Thank you John - that was a load of information and I dont feel good about singing it any more. It is a funeral song - period.
This gets me thinking - why oh why do we SING at funerals ? I'm opening a new thread on this.
