Hi Everyone I got it this morning - my new Yamaha S900 :)and I think I'm going to love it. Yes, it's quite alike the PSR 3000 (which makes life a little easier for me) but the audio recording to USB, is amazing and its so fast and true. I'm going to have fun I'm sire. I did a little EQ tweaking and recorded "Something" and I'm posting it to the Members Stage . Do let me know what you think of it

Firstly, congratulations on your new purchase. If what I have heard is true, and I have no reason to think otherwise, I am convinced you will have many enjoyable years of wonderful experiences with the S900. Secondly, looking forward already with pleasurable anticipation to hearing your efforts on the Member's stage

Well done Shyam. I am glad you purchased the new S900. You will not be disappointed. I have to add shyam that the USB rec feature was one of the reasons I bought it. The mixing console that it has is excellent. I have to say the levels are near spot on when you have recorded your mix. Another thing I'd like to add is sometimes I would do a solo night If my singing partnew was unwell or could not make the gig. Now with the S-900 I can pre record my midis and provide my own vocal harmonies to each of my track list. Which I would then save for playback on that night. This means that I can either play along with the track as usuall and not loose the harmonies, or pick up my guitar and strum away.. I have posted a song on the members stage that I recorded with my PSR S900 If you'd like to have a listen. midimart.proboards56.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=stage&thread=2585&page=1

Kemo, that's truly a beautiful rendition of a great classic and you really excelled. WOW ! Yes, I'm really enjoyng my S 900 and its truly very exciting. I do wish it had more internal storage space. I just cant afford to forget my USB pen drive - the internals can only store about 30 odd songs. The Audio recording feature is so user friendly, its just too rooo simple and dont forget it can play back WAV karaoke files which you can sing along with. I know I wont use karaoke files as a rule, but its fun to use them once in a while just to see the guests turn around and wonder who the back up singers are............ lol. Lets hear more from you, Kemo and do post in on "finds" on your S 900.

Thank you Shyam for your comments. That was my first recording that I had done with it. I was supposed to do another couple weeks back for Gerry but I have started renovations at home which has taken up allot of my time. I do share your views on the storage situation with the S900. What I would reccomend is to get one of those hard drive caddies that I was telling Pat about on my S900 thread. Basicly you can use a Laptop hard drive. The caddy is used then to convert the hard drive from either (SATA )or (IDE) to USB which can be connected to you S900. I have two of these one is a 80g the other is a 40g. Just think on the storage you could have.
You can pick up the little caddies(enclosures) for about £5 and if you do not already have an ide laptop hard drive at home you can pick these up for as little as £15 for an 80g. To sum it up shyam you would have an 80g storage device for £20 which will store everything you need it to. I hope this helps. If you'd like any further information don't hesitate to drop me a mail.
Take care
Kemo

Hi Kmo, do you think we could install a hard drive inside the S900 ? We could keep a nce compact lap top HD with 80 GB storage all connected and ready to use any time. Think of the fun we could have with that kind of storage. What do you think of this idea ?

That is very similar to what I have only mine is external. I do not think that the casing would fit a 2.5" laptop drive, although wouldn't it be great. You'd think with the technology nowadays the manufactors could address the storage issue. Shyam I don't know about you but the thing that worries me is if the usb connection becomes faulty during a gig, unless we have an alternative backup. Thats why I'd love to see an internal storage slot. Shyam I was wondering aswell what vocal effects did you put on your microphone whilst recording your track for the members stage?
Regards kemo

I dont want to risk opening up my S900 but I might ask the Yamaha technician to do so . Yes that eventuality worries me too as the internal storage just about holds 35 songs We really need to get a HD inside, dont you think ? Reg. the vocal effects, I used the Reverb setting on HALL 5 and EQed it giving some highs. Store your setting on a Registration Memory as the default of Echo is pretty irritable.
