Hi
Something I have never seen, but would like to, is a device to play midi files that has multiple separate outputs (for simultaneous playback) rather that just the normal twin stereo output. Either that or a sound card for a computer with either 6 (for 5.1 sound) or 8 (for 7.1) outputs plus a way to record in multiple tracks (perhaps to Dolby 5.1 or 7.1) and have clean and totally separate tracks that can all playback to separate outputs?
Does anyone know if such a thing exists or if can be done?
Thanks

Several Roland midi modules and keyboards offer separate outputs, I'm sure others do too. My Roland XV5050 has 4 outs which can be either stereo pairs or outputs A and B etc. Sounds can be assigned to particular outputs and brought up on separate audio channels on your mixer. Most of the XV5050 sounds are actually stereo so it works best as 2 stereo pairs. Cheers, Dave.

My venerable Kurzweil K2500XS has four stereo outputs to which you can route any combination of sounds.
