I've just heard that Humphrey Lyttleton passed away at the age of 86 after an operation to repair an artery. He presented his Best of jazz programme on BBC radio for 40 years and was still performing with his band up to being admitted to hospital. Another jazzer joins the big jam session in the sky. R.I.P. Humph.

I heartily second that. However for me he will be remembered most for his chairmanship of some radio comedy quizzes. As you say R.I.P. Humph.
