Hello from Mark in South Wales

Hello MidiMart forum members!
Yes i'm another new member, my name is Mark .I'm not Welsh,but have chosen to live in beautiful Carmarthenshire in South Wales.I'm in my forties and play electric guitar as my main instrument, but i also own and play a Korg pa1X keyboard. Musical influences?....Blues,brought to my attention when i was just 14 by the late great Rory Gallagher, others include Paul Kossoff ,Dave Gilmour,Mr Knopfler,Hank,and more.
I have been in a few bands over the years,never quite made the Big Time,although i've worked in Dubai and spent three months playing on the QE2. At the moment i'm "solo" but not being a vocalist i'm keen to team up again and be part of something bigger,maybe i'll meet someone through the forum!

Hi Mark,all the very best from Perth W Australia,i'm sure you will find you are in good company with the folks from M Mart,no lack of support when you happen to need good advice or help on just about anything to do with music.Since joining myself in Nov 07 the amount of information i have gained from the members & staff has been outstanding saving me many months of struggling to build a decent collection of midifiles & i have also learn't a lot more about how to use my cakewalk sequencer programme which was all pretty new to me.Best wishes to you, simmo

A big welcome to the forum Mark, a great list of guitarists you named. Mark Knopfler has to be my number one though. Tiny and myself are collaborating on "Sultans Of Swing" at the moment, and hope to post the results on the members stage soon!!

Hi Mark
if you are living in Wales then you are amongst some great singers,Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Paul Potts to name a few. You never know living there might just give you the singing voice you always wanted.I like your taste in music so you will have fun here.

Hi there Mark. I have stopped off many a time in Carmarthen for a break and a bit of grub when on route to London from Tipperary. I love Wales, have many family and friends from the Cardiff area. Yes, I have Welsh cousins, born and and bread!
