I seem to remember some time ago threatening to put some old pictures on the Gallery. I got to thinking it might be a laugh if other members did the same. I know nostalgia's not what it used to be but here's one to start us off. This was taken at Derby Locarno (a Mecca Ballroom in those days) around 1965 when we were the resident trio. Check out the hair - I had some then! On a sad note both the bass guitarist and drummer have left to play the big gig in the sky. Come on guys let's see what we used to look like and have a giggle into the bargain. Go on click the link......

That is a really great photo Roger. Sorry your two buddies have moved on. I bet they are smiling at that picture right now. Hopefully we'll get to see more. For those who don't know, you have to click on the picture to enlarge it.

Hey guys, this is fun......nice seeing them old pictures. I'm sure they must be bringing back many memories . Yeah they would have been great days. I'll poke around my closet and trunks and see if I can find any to post. I wonder if a section should be opened for OLD PICTURES !! Maybe a good idea. Thanks for starting this off, rogerb

rogerb. Sorry to know your partners are no more. It is really sad to lose your close friends, especially those who have made music with you. May their souls rest in peace.

OK, I wanna play too! Here's a pic of me with hair! I'm the skinny, sweaty, long-haired git singing lead with Ramrod in the Atlantik Bar (Bremerhaven, Germany) back in the early 70s. All the boys are still with us and we talk to each other regularly. www.box.net/shared/ny27lzmlkh (click on the thumbnail to upsize it.) Cheers, Dave.

Dave............C O O O O O O L MAN !!!!!!! COOOOOOOOL!!!!! You look good, Dave !! Its amazing how the bands of yesteryears all looked alike. Jokes aside, your band could have been playing in any of our Restaurants here - same kinda set up and I bet the same kinda music too. Cheers Man !!! My regards to all the guys in the Ramrod, whenever you talk to them. Gosh I love this section on old pictures. Attaboy rogerb !!!

Actually, Shyam, Ramrod would have NEVER worked in a restaurant of any kind! The boys would be horrified to hear you say that. It probably looks like a tight fit for the band up on that tiny little stage but it a was all full-on Rock music, a-la Stones. Our repertoire was mostly 60s and 70s rock and Top 40 stuff plus a few originals. The Atlantik bar was one of the premier rock clubs, always packed and pumping, in an era when Bremerhaven boasted about 5 full time bands (working 6 nights a week) in rock clubs plus a bunch of Soul and Disco venues all catering to rock-crazy Krauts and the American Armed Forces posted nearby. I was part of this crazy scene for a few years as were many English Bands of the period, you can read a great article about it all at musikhaven.de/index.php?id=45 (if you understand German, that is... otherwise just enjoy the photos!). UPDATE: Here's the article in English! musikhaven.de/index.php?id=175 Cheers, Dave.
