After all the Hype.... No two ways about it, it was the worst game for years. The sooner these mega rich clubs go off and join the super euro league the better. It's the only way forward to get us back to watching a league where the outcome isn't decided by greed. A better game would have been between Watford and Blackburn....but the F.A. would have winced if these two clubs had upset the odds and been at the "Show piece" final. Here's hoping the Wednesday match with Liverpool is an improvement, Cheers, Rossi

Rossi mate, you,ve hit the nail on the head, let em join a euro league and let grass roots football to itself, they have all the money to buy the so called best, yet ive seen better sunday league footie than the shambles yesterday.
The fans that follow these teams tend to change allegiance with whoever wins the league!!!
Not all of them, but a fair few.

What's worse is that during the parade of cup final legends, these "football fans" chose to boo some of the legends because they didn't play for Man U or Chelsea. These were players that will be remembered long after some of the overpaid prima donnas in this drab final.

The Super Dooper Euro league is not far off...Witness the Champions cup nowadays. Mini leagues, no direct knockout. It's all to gather more money. Years back I used to scoff at the Scottish football where only Rangers and Celtic won something, (and maybe the occasional Aberdeen), the lesser clubs had "gates" of under five thousand, and this was their top division. Never happen in the English league. How wrong can you be? Players like Chris Sutton, to name just one, went up there and lorded it with goals every week. But surely, they couldn't be counted as "quality" goals when facing the minnows most of the weeks. Why do you think Rangers have to play Celtic so many times....Money. Being old, I well remember the sixties football, and it was a pleasure to go to your home ground every other week and watch opposing teams with their two or maybe three star players. Every team had a nucleus of winners. There was even loyalty still around then.Witness the number of years players like Colin Bell, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore etc, stayed at the one team. Nowadays you'll be lucky to keep one star player for a year before the likes of the fat cats turn up with a "Shed load of money". Back in the sixties and seventies, the teams were built by aspiring managers who picked players to gell in a footballing side. Roll on the exit of the two or three of our moneybag sides, and lets get back to when football was fun....and dare I say...cheap. My son has three lads who watch their Premiership team with their dad. It's mind blowing what he has to pay out for a Saturday game!
P.S. Three of my friends back in the UK have not renewed their season tickets this time. Why? Because the lads used to enjoy watching the match on a Saturday afternoon and then go for a few bevvies later on in the town. Nowadays, loads of games are switched for the sake of the Great Money God Sky. It's just not the same. Hence, they are going to start picking their matches. How long before people say, enough is enough?
PPS. Well done to little Morecambe coming into the league. Now that's a team that I'd like to see these so called top managers work with. No money, just raw talent. We'd see who could do their job then!
Cheers, Rossi

You talk a lot of sense Rossi let me say from the start i`m a die hard Chelsea fan and have been from about the age of 6/7 .I remember when we had a team of real footballers and no divers we did have our share of ankle nibblers lol like Ron Harris lol (bet he wouldn`t get to play 90 mins today he`d be off in the first 15 ) but the game was fair and you had to be the better team to win I think what the `special 1` has done is to bring our great club in to almost a joke to be honest i`m glad Man U won the league this season because i think we `bought it `last season.Money does talk perhaps things may be different next season but i doubt it Regards , weegeo

Fantastic to see morecombe in the league rossi, thats what its about, grass roots football, the likes of ferguson and mourinho would,nt have a clue how to manage raw talent.
I,m a staunch leeds fan, look what happened to us trying to keep up with the big guns.
We had one of the best teams ever when all players were getting the same wage, the likes of bremner, charlton, giles and alan clarke to name a few, with a grass roots manager, don revie.
These pansy "superstars" would,nt last five minutes with norman hunter!!!

Tubbs, That Leeds team was a credit, but could have won even more if they hadn't have fallen at the last hurdle on a few occasions. I actually interviewed Jack Charlton a number of years ago over here, for one of the local colour mags I used to write for. Believe me he was some character. His wife (Mary, I think), came with him and we just chatted about soccer for an hour. He insisted that I took breakfast/lunch with them both whilst he went onto describe why he should have been manager of England!. He used all the condiments and glasses on the table to organise attack and defence strategies. Great guy.
Back onto the cup final. A friend of mine has just got back from watching it at Wembly, and he says the stadium is not great...it's magnificent, although a few locals told him that the Emirates ground is even better! The programme cost ten quid!!!! Mind you, I've had a look at it, and I must admit, this is actually value for money because its pretty thick. And the first one from New Wembley (cup final), so fair play on that one. At least it wasn't jammed full of adverts like so many of the others have been. Cheers, Rossi
