As a Watford supporter I can no believe how fast you guys have sunk since the play off final. Seems a shame but Leeds do not get a lot of sympathy maybe it was the way some of the fans have behaved in the past. I just hope Chelsea have a similar situation when their mafia money runs out. Leeds get a bad press because of two things.
First they were disliked because of loads of fan trouble in the seventies, but mainly because of their success as well.
To be honest, I don't think they actually achieved as much as they should have regards trophies. They missed out on a lot of final wins and titles with runners up places if memory serves me correctly.
Also, the quicker they get rid of that parasite Bates, the better.
They've got an uphill start in that division this season, (no pun intended) but at least they seem to have started well.
As for the mention of Chelsea and the money, well, what can I say? My team has just been turned around by some dubious character from Taiwain (Man City).
I say, get his money spent as fast as possible before he's arrested and hawled back to his country. I remember Liverpool getting cold feet with him when he tried to buy them a season ago.
The way of the world I'm afraid. To compete with the top four in the Premier you need a "shed load of money". Fact.
Any decent player coming through the ranks of an average team is now snapped up by the top teams in order to stop the pretenders getting any higher. (Not the group !!)
Oh to have a league like the sixties decade had. An assortment of teams, well managed and a variety of winners. Happy days!
