Has anybody noticed the amount of coverage this is getting? Now I play Holdem and I like it a lot....but to treat it as a sport...hmmmmm any opinions?  |

I really like this game and it is considered a "sport" by many so you are right to mention it here I can't play but love to watch it on the telly. These chaps take it very seriously, and would you blame them, just look at all the money involved |

Basically every body gets 2 cards that no one else see's.... then people bet as they see fit.... Generally speaking 2 aces or AA as its known is top 2 cards to go on...AK Suited... ( same suit ) considered 2nd best... after betting stops ...3 cards are then Flopped over...these ( plus the next 2 cards ) are community cards...betting cointinues.... then the nest card ..( called the Turn card )...more betting ...then the last card ( the river card ) the object is to make the best 5 card hand using ur 2 cards and a combiunation of any of the five cards turned over.... ;D..... standard poker card rankings apply... in other words... Royal flush is the best hand.....ect. Lotsa fun.... there are sites on the net that if you join they will give you money to play with...Plus ...some of these sites have what are called Freeroll tournaments...that are free to enter and can actually win you real money..... ;D

Im not one for gambling  , a wee bet now and again on a few horses that have names that are something to do with music ( pearls a singer , Band & pop Musik.. lost a fortune  ) , but i love to watch t Texas Holdem when it,s on TV i think it,s class.. it,s very popular in most pubs & clubs over here in Belfast, every Tuesday in my local ( theres a limit to what you can lose ..bout 30 pounds ) so i think thats great that nobody loses all their hard earned cash, and the craic is ninety, as for it being a sport , Bridge ,Snap, Poker , and anything that involves a deck of cards could be called a sport ..then would,nt the Olympics be mad  cubb |
