HI Paul I need your help again.I've had a long running problem with recording sound on to my pc.I finally managed to get the volume control back, but i still can't record any sound.I have ticked all the boxes that need ticking etc. but,I've been advised that the windows sound recorder is missing. Is there a way i can retrieve this? I'd appreciate your thoughts or advice. Thanks and regards Eddie (weeo) ps. i'm using windows xp pro

windows sound recorder souldn't matter.
The problem is your selection of SOURCE.
HOW TO:
Open up VOLUME CONTROL > On the OPTIONS button (Top Left Corner) Select PROPERTIES Then Select ADJUST VOLUME FOR RECORDING, tick all the boxes, Click OK and THEN select the selection box under STEREO MIX or LINE IN etc etc etc

hi weeeo, had a similar problemafter a lot of head scratching i found that digital in was selected instead of analogue.as my card did not have any digital input devices it didn,t work.once i clicked it back to analogue everything was fine.worth a shot have a look and see what,s selected in your sound card
