Auto shapes frames

Hi Paul
I have Windows Professional XP and the MS Office 2003.
When I use the Auto shapes or Text box, the "drawing" frame comes up to "help" me insert the drawing or text.
Is there a way to disable this frame from appearing ? Its more of a nuisance than help .

you never described the application (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) that you are using

unfortunately, i have never used office, as i am an avid openoffice user. and any of my tech support has never directed me to autoshapes, so im out of my league in a sense

however, i'm sure that some members of the forum can help out with this. i will search for a solution
