Hey Girls and Guys I have a question: I bought a Yamaha APX 700 and can't seem to keep batteries in it,i've been told by people in the "know" and at a music store that every time I take a break when playing at a gig,I am supposed to unplug my guitar so it won't drain the battery,it has a tuner build into it(have you ever heard the likes "WOW") I also have a APX 4-a-spl that i've used for years and never had to unplug it at any time and batteries lasted i'm sure a year. Any suggestions to this problem.Thank you Dave

Re my last suggestion. You could get your mono jack replaced with stereo, run hidden wires to batt terminals from new stereo jack.Get a technician to run a 9volt tap out of your amp and use a stereo lead to feed your output signal and battery supply.

You could get someone who knows how to use a multi-meter to see how much current it draws in use [plugged in] and then unplugged, it should draw nothing unplugged but there could be a fault. Then if all checks out compere it to another one of the same model. Or buy a rechargeable battery or two and a charger but be aware that they don't tend to hold full current that long but should be fine for guitar.

I solved the problem with the APX 700 I swapped it for a GARRISON i've had it for a month now and haven't changed the battery once there had to be something wrong with that yamaha APX.
P.S. this GARRISON has some pure, smooth sound unreal how it plays,I love it
