Yet another Aussie icon - he's a deadset legend!!!!! Also a very nice man to boot , always happy to talk about "finding your groove" - very modest and unassuming.
I met his brother once.

And for all you lucky listeners in Ireland and the UK, Tommy is touring in your neck of the woods in the first few weeks of November, 2007. (He's doing Europe through November/December and then back home to Oz for Christmas Eve.) Do yourself a huge favour and catch his show if you get a chance. I've seen him perform hundreds of times over the years and I'd suggest that you've probably never seen anything quite like this amazing guitar virtuoso when he's in full flight! Cheers, Dave.

Thanks for that. If he get to Ireland I will definitely do my living best to see him.

Right you are, Pat. It looks like he'll just be doing Belfast's Waterfront Hall on the 13th November. I'd heard he was doing a few gigs in Ireland but it looks like that's the only one for now. Here's the link to his Tour dates; www.tommyemmanuel.com/tour-dates Cheers, Dave.

Not sure at this stage if I'll be able to return there for the 13th. But if it's at all possible I'll be there Kemo: you lucky so and so

I've been lucky enough to have worked with him, as sound engineer, on 3 occasions when he played in a small village called Carrig on Bannow in County Wexford. Only 2 words can describe this guy " Gentleman and Genius"

Tommy is a friend of the owner of the pub in Carrig on Bannow , John Murphy who is an excellent harmonica player, and one night after the sound check John was going across the street to play at a commemoration mass in the church and Tommy, being the true gentleman that he is, decided he was going to play at the mass as well, one of the few times I've not missed mass !! The name of the pub is Colfers , it is well known in this area for trad., bluegrass and blues with artists from Europe, America and UK playing there. Check out a guy called Preston Reed on you tube, I also worked with him in Colfers Pub.
